Hi, my name is Ryan. about 3 and a half years ago I was involved in an incident that would change my life and another girl’s forever. I work for a trailer company where I live and I was on my way back from picking up a new one from the factory in Indiana and was headed back to Iowa. I made it to about 30 min from home on a dark night in February. The interstate is winding and it was hard to see the headlights of another vehicle coming the wrong way and we collided head on at over 60+ mph. The 17 year old girl was triple the legal limit. Both our vehicles were mangled scraps of metal in the median. I could see her car and her arm hanging out of the window, and I tried with all my might to get out of my truck to help but was unable to. I had to watch helplessly as rescue workers arrived. I found out a few hours later that she had passed away. As the victim I have struggled with depression and regret and I constantly blamed myself for what happened. Things like this can happen to anyone and death for either party is just unacceptable.
